Make a painted bookmark.

A little colour between the pages. Explore a simple pattern on paper, then turn it into an object you can use every day.

Step 01

Prepare your paper

Mark a long rectangle on your card. Leave enough space around the edges to hold it while painting.

Step 02

Try a few strokes on scrap paper. Choose two or three colours and let one simple shape repeat.

Step 03

Work from light colours to dark, leaving some paper visible. Let each layer dry before adding another.

Step 04

Once completely dry, cut along your outline. Flatten under a book if needed, then slip your bookmark into your current read.
